Gosau Apartment Shelbourne

Our spacious 'studio' apartment sleeps 2 (+1 child), and is superbly located within the prestigious Vitalhotel, in the Salzkammergut's beautiful Gosau valley , for skiing at Dachstein-West, and for hiking along 400 + kms of the region's clearly marked mountain and lakeside trails.

It has one of the best views in the building, high up on the 3rd floor, and consists of a large living / sleeping room with twin beds at the rear and a large 'L'-shaped sofa and a dining table at the front. We also have a modern kitchen and a bathroom with tub and shower. Our sunny south-west facing balcony boasts spectacular views over Gosau valley to the Dachstein mountain nearby, and to the ski slopes.

The hotel complex comes with a great mix of facilities that guests love for relaxing after busy, active or lazy days in the mountains. There is a Wellness Center with massage, sauna and relaxing rooms, a gym, games room, gym, a ski and boot locker, indoor tennis courts, gardens, and bike hire as well as a full-service restaurant, bars and sun terraces. Our guests have free use of the indoor pool and sauna . The buildings are surrounded by meadows, and a small river passes it, with the village center only 500m away. The Gosaukamm range at the end of the valley above Gosausee is a spectacular sight!

Guests can take meals in the hotel's restaurant, at our Owners' prices, or cook their own meals in the apartment - sitting on our private balcony is wonderful whilst dining, in summer, as the sounds of the cowbells and distant church bells create a relaxing and memorable atmosphere. Our kitchen is ideal for preparing snacks and picnics as well, but with a wide choice of local restaurants in the village and beside Gosausee and up on the mountainside it is temping to eat out a lot of the time! 

Set in the unspoilt heart of the beautiful Salzkammergut lakes region, Gosau is central for a wide range of exhilarating outdoor activities such as skiing, snowboarding, hiking, mountain-biking, climbing, white water rafting, tubing, paragliding. On top of that there is lake swimming, boat trips, fishing, golf, a cog railway, several spa towns, a river gorge, a salt mine and the Ice Cave to visit locally, plus many beautiful lakes with waterside restaurants, too. 

With spa treatments available on site, our apartment is a lovely place to return to each evening, and is also an ideal destination for a romantic break for couples of all ages, in summer or winter.

Reaching Gosau by road is a pleasant experience with good fast roads and the lovely scenery around the numerous lakes. Salzburg is only 50 minutes away, to visit and for flights. Buses run regularly through the valleys, but a car is recommended except in winter, as it allows guests to explore the local area at their own pace. The very popular UNESCO lakeside village Hallstatt is close by in the next valley , and is easy to visit. 

A minimum of 4 nights is required to stay here, in peak periods (3 otherwise), and if guests would like another private apartment for their friends, they can book one, (belonging to friends), if available, through us.
